Resource CDs/American Treasures

Looking for primary source documents to enrich your classroom lessons? TPS is here to help.

TPS staff members are currently assembling American Treasures boxes and Resource CDs, each based on a specific topic from American history. The American Treasures boxes consist of a Resource CD, printed documents and images from the Library of Congress and ideas about how you might incorporate the materials into your classroom. Collections currently available are listed below.

In addition, at your request, staff members will collect Library of Congress resources on a topic which would best suit your classroom needs. While there is no guarantee that digitized primary source documents are available, every effort will be made to provide you with documents that support your objectives. Upon completion, you will be provided with a Resource CD that includes appropriate documents, as well as printed copies of specific documents and images, when possible. Some documents that have been digitized at a high resolution can even be printed out poster size.
